Gaelic Football
Gaelic football is the most popular and widely played sport in Ireland. It is played on a large rectangular grass pitch with H-shaped goals at each end. The game is high octane, full of speed, hard hits, precision, accuracy, and intensity. It is played with a round ball and players can use both hands and feet to control and pass the ball. There are 15 players on each team, with only 1 referee. There are two ways to score; drive the ball past the goalkeeper and into the net for a goal (worth 3 points), or over the crossbar and between the upright posts for a point (worth 1 point). The team with the most points after two 30-minute halves wins!
